1. I love tennis because it’s more than just a sport to me. It’s the memories I make, the adventures I go on, and the lessons I learn both on and off the court. It pushes me to be my best and teaches me discipline, resilience, and focus. Plus, it’s simply an amazing sport that I love playing.
2. Being at a full-time tennis academy helps me balance tennis and school because it’s designed specifically for athletes like me. I train for about 5 ½ hours a day and have around 3 ½ hours dedicated to school. This setup allows me to focus on both without feeling overwhelmed, and it’s taught me valuable time management skills that will help me far beyond tennis.
3. My favorite subjects are English, Math, and Economics because they challenge me and give me a mental break from the physical intensity of tennis training. I enjoy stretching my mind as much as my body.
4. I’ve played in several local TSA (Tennis South Africa) tournaments, Nationals, and ITF (International Tennis Federation) tournaments. Last year, I was also invited to attend the U14 Juniors National Masters in Pretoria, which was a great honor.
I’ve competed in every ITF tournament that my age has allowed so far and have also entered qualifying draws for Pro Women’s Circuit events in Pretoria and Stellenbosch, gaining valuable experience and a glimpse into the next level of the game.
Over the years, I have won numerous TSA trophies, medals, and awards.
Although I have not yet won an ITF title, I’ve had great victories against strong international players. The competition level at ITF events is much higher, with a broader age group, and players can only start competing internationally from the age of 13 — my starting point.
For me, everything is just starting, and I’m excited to keep learning, growing, and building my way toward ITF and Pro-level titles!
5. My message to other young girls would be to stay determined and believe in themselves. Tennis can be tough, but with hard work, perseverance, and the right mindset, you can achieve great things. Don’t give up, even when the road gets difficult — it’s part of the journey.
6. I have several role models in tennis who inspire me in different ways. One of them is Mirra Andreeva because, like me, she started playing at a young age and has already shown incredible talent and determination. I am also inspired by Billie Jean King, who showed incredible courage and determination from a young age and opened so many doors for future generations. Each of these players reminds me that greatness starts with belief, hard work, and resilience.
7. My favorite tennis player is Aryna Sabalenka because of her powerful playing style, her determination, and her mental toughness. My own game is strong and aggressive too, and I admire how she plays with such confidence and intensity. I always try to bring that same energy to my matches.
8. My mom’s support means everything to me. She’s there for me whether I’m having an amazing day or a tough one. Knowing she believes in me gives me the confidence to keep pushing forward and chasing my goals. Having my mom by my side is one of my greatest strengths.
9. My dad is like the solid ground that keeps me standing strong. He supports me in so many ways — helping me make decisions, teaching me important lessons, and always cheering me on. He’s traveled with me on tennis tours, just like my mom, and has been one of my biggest supporters next to the court, always keeping me happy and motivated with positive encouragement.
10. When I’m not busy with tennis or school, I love spending time with my friends and family, watching movies, or doing something fun and productive. I also love being outdoors, especially at our family’s special properties like our beloved game reserve, where I’m exposed to wildlife every day and learn so much from nature. Taking breaks and recharging helps me stay focused when it’s time to get back to work.
11. My short-term goal is to continue improving my game — physically, mentally, and tactically — and to compete in bigger tournaments with even better results. I want to keep challenging myself and see how far I can go.
12. My biggest dream is to become one of the top players in the world, competing in Grand Slams and maybe even winning one someday! I want to inspire others through my journey and show people who I am and what great things I’m capable of achieving.
Leadership Questions
1) At this young age does she see herself as a leader of the sport?
I believe I am starting to become a leader for people around my age who are chasing their dreams. Through my hard work, dedication, and positive attitude, I hope to show others that it’s possible to follow your passion and achieve great things. Even though I am still learning and growing, I know that by setting a strong example now, I can inspire others to believe in themselves too.
2) Is she hoping to become a leader in the sport one day where she will be able to pass on her knowledge and skills?
Yes, I definitely hope to grow into an even stronger leader in the sport one day. I want to be someone who not only achieves success on the court but also mentors and inspires the next generation by sharing everything I have learned — the hard work, lessons, sacrifices, and passion that go into chasing a dream.
3) As a young leader how is she hoping to positively impact the sport?
As a young leader, I hope to show that with determination, a positive mindset, and belief in yourself, anything is possible. I want to encourage more young girls to dream big, to not be afraid of hard work, and to believe that they belong on the court. I want to leave a mark not just through my achievements, but through the way I uplift and inspire others in the tennis world.
