The Day Everything Felt Possible

Botswana 2024

August 2024 is a month I’ll always remember — not because I won a tournament, but because I won a match that shifted something inside me. In Botswana, I faced the #3 seed in the first round of an ITF event, and I found a level I hadn’t fully accessed before. It was a great win. Not a breakthrough. Just a glimpse of what could be — and a reminder that the road is long, but I’m on it.

A Win That Sparked Belief

I played the #3 seed in my opening round — a strong local player. I went in focused, trusted my training, and fought hard. And I won. It was a turning point in my mindset.

After the match, the Botswana Tennis Association congratulated me, and a national TV crew interviewed me. Suddenly, my name was on the news.

Botswana’s Kindness and Recognition

What stayed with me most wasn’t the result — it was how I was treated. The Botswana Tennis Association shared over 100 high-quality match photos and the TV footage. They made me feel like I belonged, even as a visiting player. I’ll always be grateful.

What I Took With Me

I left Botswana with belief — in myself, my training, and the journey I’m on. This sport is not only about results, but about moments that tell you: you’re getting there.
